Making memories

My mother in law has Lymphoma and hasn't been able to get out and about much lately due to being exhausted from treatment...so last night when we went to Stone Mountain it was a big deal :). Plus my father in law came too...which is an abnormally rare event...so it made the memory all the sweeter!

Daughter #1 was happy to pose for a picture...daughter #2 was too busy :)

I did manage to get both of them to look up from their artwork for a moment here.

We had a marvelous time last night! Being together and smiling and laughing as a family are the best memories you can make! My girls have been to Stone Mountain before but last night was the first time they really got into it! They danced, smiled, laughed and clapped the whole evening! We got lucky, bc we had no idea going into it, that Kicks 101.5 was having a last blast of summer concert there, until we got there. So we had some excellent music to listen to during our couple of hours we waited. The weather was perfect as well! Thank you Jesus for my family!!! I am so very very blessed!

Count down to Disney!!!

We are taking a family vacation to Florida for 7 days in October and can't wait so we are counting down!
The girls kept asking "How many days 'til Florida" so I decided we'd make chain countdowns...They really got into it! Daughter #1 made her countdown picture of Cinderella's castle and daughter #2 made her's a picture of us driving down. :) My picture, ok...it's bad lol, is of our family on the beach. I think they are pretty stinkin' cute!

This trip will include the girls 1st trip to Disney World and Magic Kingdom! I think Jason and I are as excited as they are!!!

Here are a few pics of the last trip to Florida. ((These we're taken at Cocoa Beach))

Daughter #2 was still so itty bitty!! Awww!!!

Daughter #1 running up the beach! :)

The girls and their cousin, Ash baby. They are all so beautiful!

What a weekend!

What a great, FREE, little adventure we had this Saturday with my cousin and her family! We took our girls to Dauset Trails, a small nature trail with rescued animals from otters-a black bear.
The girls got to feed otters, fish, deer, turtles and goats!

We all had a blast! I am sure we will be going back soon...since the girls have yet to stop asking when that will be! :)
Jason had to try the tractor out :). I am sure he wishes we had one!

After The trail we were all VERY hot so we went swimming with uncle Bobby at Nanny's house!

Look at my little fishy!

I am blogging...right? LOL

I am creating this blog for my own outlet as well as for our family and friends to be able to read what we are up to. I am also very excited to meet some other home school mom's and learn from their wisdom :).

My husband and I have always talked about the possibility of me homeschooling our children...just weren't sure it was financially possible. My sweet mother in law was so kind to keep our children when we were a 2 income house hold and for that we are forever grateful! As our daughters inched closer to "school" age we looked at our situation and decided to make adjustments so I could stay home and teach our girls. There is never a day that goes by that we are not thankful we made that choice! It is not always easy or convenient living on one income ...but I am so glad I am the one who gets to see the little, and big, lightbulbs come on! WHAT A BLESSING!!!
